The festival of new wine and the flavors of the Nebrodi mountains in San Fratello
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Martin Fest - Saint Martin's Festival is the food and wine event that brings San Fratello to life every November, a charming village in the Nebrodi Park in the province of Messina, Sicily. The event celebrates Saint Martin of Tours and, following the tradition linking this holiday to "new wine," transforms the town into the culinary capital of the Nebrodi for an entire weekend.
During Martin Fest, the streets and squares of San Fratello's historic center turn into a large food and wine itinerary that tells the story of the Nebrodi's soul. The absolute star is the new wine, accompanied by the area's finest products:
Alongside the food stalls, there are guided tastings and flavor workshops designed to introduce visitors to the local production and knowledge.
Martin Fest is not just about food and wine: the program includes concerts, roaming performances, and street artists that enliven the village. Past editions have featured musical performances by local bands and roaming artists, equestrian shows, art exhibitions, and guided tours of the Sanctuary of the Three Holy Martyrs, a religious and identity symbol of San Fratello. There are also spaces dedicated to children and moments of conviviality that make the festival suitable for everyone.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco San Fratello APS in collaboration with the Municipality of San Fratello, the Vulรฒs associations, and the Youth Council, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture (MASAF), the Ministry of Tourism, and the Regional Department of Agriculture of the Sicilian Region. An event born from the commitment of local youth to promote San Fratello, the Nebrodi, and their typical products.
The 2026 edition of the Martin Fest in San Fratello does not yet have official dates or a program at the time of this publication. The Pro Loco San Fratello APS has announced that it will publish the program for the 2026 Saint Martin's Festival shortly.
Based on previous editions, the event usually takes place in November, around Saint Martin's Day, and includes tastings of new wine, typical Nebrodi products, street food, roasted chestnuts, live music, street performers, and activities for children in the historic center of San Fratello, in the province of Messina.
Martin Fest takes place in the historic center of San Fratello (ME), among the streets and squares of the village, in the Nebrodi Mountains.
