FIDAS – Cossato Festival, the blood donors' celebration

FIDAS – Cossato Festival is the summer event organized by the Cossato branch of FIDAS (Italian Blood Donors Federation) in the town center, in the province of Biella, in the heart of Piedmont. For two days, the town transforms into a large open-air meeting point where music, beer, and good food provide the backdrop for a celebration that goes beyond simple entertainment: it aims to introduce people to blood donation and raise awareness of the daily work of volunteers.

The formula is that of the most successful local festivals: food stalls with generous portions, rivers of beer, long outdoor tables, and live music until late in the evening. The event area is set up in Piazza Ermanno Angiono, in the center of Cossato, where the Municipality issues specific traffic and parking regulations every year during the event. The atmosphere is the informal and warm one typical of Piedmontese festivals, perfect for an evening in the company of friends and family.

Behind the conviviality lies the mission of the Cossato FIDAS: to promote blood donation and recruit new members, at a time when memberships need to be renewed, especially among the younger generation.
