Four days of entertainment, gastronomy, and a street market in the heart of Valsessera
Pray in Vetrina is the end-of-summer event that has been enlivening the town of Pray for over three decades, located in the heart of Valsessera, in the province of Biella (Piedmont). Organized by the Pro Loco of Pray, the festival spans four days, from Friday to Monday, transforming the streets and squares of the historic center into a grand open-air stage filled with shows, music, gastronomy, and popular traditions.
Reaching its 36th edition in 2026, Pray in Vetrina is now deeply rooted in the identity of the town and the entire valley. The name itself refers to one of the event's most distinctive features: the decoration and shop window contest, where merchants and residents are invited to decorate shops, balconies, and facades according to the colors and themes chosen for the edition, in a creative competition that culminates in a final awards ceremony.
The program offers four days of free performances spread across various locations in town: street artists, acrobats, circus acts, dance, live music, and dance evenings. Traditional highlights include parades by local associations, the evening parade with illuminated wings, roving performances, and concerts that close each evening. There is also a funfair for families and children.
The delicious heart of the festival is the Sapori in Tavola food pavilion, where you can taste traditional Piedmontese dishes and specialties from various Italian regions. The Sunday street market, featuring the local band and exhibitors along the town center streets, completes the offering, combining food and wine, crafts, and local products in a festive atmosphere.
With its free-entry shows and strong community spirit, Pray in Vetrina attracts thousands of visitors every year from Pray and the neighboring towns of Valsessera and the Biella area. It is an opportunity to rediscover an authentic corner of Piedmont, where the Pro Loco tradition continues to keep the social life and identity of mountain villages alive.
The 2026 edition of Pray in Vetrina, the 36th, will be held from September 18th to 21st, 2026 in the center of Pray, in the province of Biella. The Pro Loco of Pray has confirmed the official dates, promising four days of free shows, gastronomy, a street market, and many new features. The full program, including times, artists, and events, will be announced on official channels in the weeks preceding the festival.
