In Acquasparta, in the province of Terni, November is the month of new wine. The Festival of New Wine and Local Products celebrates the first wine of the year with a series of tasting evenings that fill the historic centre of the village, around the picturesque Piazza Federico Cesi and the arcades of Palazzo Cesi.
Tastings and traditional flavours
The stars of the festival are the new wine, bruschetta, and roasted chestnuts, accompanied by local products. The tastings in the square are complemented by an exhibition dedicated to the tools of winemakers and farmers, set up under the arcades of Palazzo Cesi: a way to showcase the rural culture and oenological tradition of the area.
A community celebration
Organised by the Carnival Committee together with the local Pro Loco and with the patronage of the Municipality, the festival is one of the most cherished autumn events by the community of Acquasparta. The tavern set up for the occasion offers specialties of Umbrian cuisine, completing an offering that combines conviviality, gastronomy, and the promotion of local products in the heart of Umbria.
Festival of New Wine — edition 2026
For 2026, the Festival of New Wine and Local Products is expected again in its usual November period in Acquasparta. The event, which has been running for about thirty years, will once again offer tasting evenings of new wine along with bruschetta, roasted chestnuts, and local products in Piazza Federico Cesi.
As tradition dictates, there will be an exhibition on the tools of winemakers and farmers under the arcades of Palazzo Cesi and a tavern with Umbrian cuisine specialties.
