The Slow Food Presidium takes center stage in Trevi's October
The Black Celery Market Exhibition and Sausage Festival celebrates one of the most iconic products of Trevi, a village in the province of Perugia: Black Celery, an exclusive cultivar grown only in the plain at the foot of the town and protected as a Slow Food Presidium. This celery has particularly tall and fragrant stalks, harvested and blanched using traditional techniques.
Now in its many editions, the event is one of Umbria's historic festivals and is part of Trevi's October, the month of events that the village dedicates to its excellences. The historic center hosts the celery market exhibition and the sausage festival, with the classic gastronomic pairing of celery and local sausage.
With stalls, tastings, and traditional dishes, the festival is an opportunity to discover the authentic flavors of the Trevi area and the agricultural identity of a land also famous for its oil.
