A festival dedicated to the families of the Reggiano Apennines

The Festival of Families is an event that enlivens Castelnovo ne' Monti, a municipality in the province of Reggio Emilia located in the heart of the Reggiano Apennines, in Emilia-Romagna. The initiative stems from the daily work of the Family Center of the Mountain Union of the Municipalities of the Reggiano Apennines, a public service that has been supporting parents, couples, and young people through the various stages of family life for years. The festival brings together the Center's many offerings in a single day, providing citizens with an opportunity for meeting, training, and socializing.

Bodies, words, relationships

The 2026 edition is subtitled "Bodies, words, relationships" and is held at the Oratorio Don Bosco in Castelnovo ne' Monti. The program opens in the afternoon with institutional greetings and the ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a rich offering of workshops and activities for all ages. The day also celebrates an important milestone: five years of activity for the Family Center in the Apennine area.

Workshops and activities for all ages

The festival offers experiences designed for every age group, from the youngest to the elderly, with a focus on physical and emotional well-being:

• Spaces dedicated to pregnancy and maternal support, with meetings for expectant couples;
• Mindfulness and meditation activities for children, teenagers, and adults;
• Creative workshops for the little ones;
• "Family Fairy Tales", a narrative journey dedicated to children aged 4 to 8;
• Programs for teenagers focused on dreams and desires;
• Gentle movement for seniors and body awareness practices.

Meetings with experts

Among the most anticipated moments is the parenting workshop titled "Being Good Parents. Educational Mistakes, Children's Personalities, and Guilt", led by psychologist and psychotherapist Osvaldo Poli. The award ceremony for sports clubs participating in the "Accogli uno sportivo" (Welcome an Athlete) project is also scheduled, demonstrating the collaboration between the Center and the local associative fabric.

A convivial moment

The day concludes with a free aperitif accompanied by musical entertainment, designed to foster interaction and social connection among families. Admission to all activities is free: the Festival of Families thus confirms itself as an open and inclusive initiative, deeply rooted in the community of Castelnovo ne' Monti and the Reggiano Apennines.
