A race with a heart of solidarity
Corri con l'Avis is one of the most established running events in Montecchio Emilia, in the province of Reggio Emilia, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Organized by the local AVIS chapter (Italian Association of Blood Donors), the event is not just a race: it is above all an opportunity to raise community awareness about the importance of blood donation, a founding value of the association. Sport thus becomes a vehicle for a message of solidarity and life.

The format of Corri con l'Avis is that of classic Emilia running events: alongside the competitive race over 11 kilometers, reserved for registered athletes, there are non-competitive fun routes, open to all, and youth races for the Under 10, Under 8, and Under 6 categories. It is this inclusivity that makes it a true community event: you can choose whether to challenge yourself against the clock or simply walk with friends through the town streets and the surrounding countryside.
Meeting point at the Silvio D'Arzo Sports Centre
The meeting and starting point is the Silvio D'Arzo Sports Centre, located on Via delle Scienze, the town's sports hub featuring football pitches, a running track, and a multi-purpose gym. From here, participants set off on the various routes that wind through Montecchio Emilia and its surroundings, on a predominantly flat course that is suitable for both competitive racing and family walks.
A long-standing tradition
Now in its 29th edition in 2026, Corri con l'Avis is a fixture on the Reggio Emilia running calendar at the end of summer, included in the provincial running events. Over the years, it has seen growing participation, confirming itself as a moment of sporting celebration and promotion of volunteerism for the entire community of Montecchio Emilia.

How to get there
Montecchio Emilia is located about 15 km west of Reggio Emilia. By car, it can be reached from the Via Emilia or the SS9, exiting the A1 motorway at the Terre di Canossa-Campegine toll booth. The most convenient train station is Reggio Emilia, which is connected by bus to the town.
Meeting and start times
Meeting at 8:00 AM at the Silvio D'Arzo Sports Centre, Via delle Scienze. Starts are staggered: 9:00 AM for youth categories (Under 10, Under 8, Under 6), 9:10 AM for intermediate categories, 9:20 AM for the competitive race and non-competitive routes.
Registration
