About A Tu per Tu

In Sala Baganza, in the first hilly area south of Parma, the A Tu per Tu festival brings great chamber music to intimate venues each year where the audience and performers truly meet eye to eye. Under the artistic direction of Maestro Claudio Piastra, seven free concerts accompany the year from March to December: spring and autumn in the intimate Oratorio dell'Assunta, summer under the stars in the courtyard of Rocca Sanvitale.

A festival that brings audiences closer to music

A Tu per Tu – Incontri Musicali is the historic concert series in Sala Baganza, a municipality in the Province of Parma located at the foot of the Apennines, in Emilia-Romagna. The name says it all: the idea is precisely to put the audience face to face with the performers, in intimate spaces where music is listened to up close, without the distance of large concert halls. Directed by Maestro Claudio Piastra, the festival is promoted by the Municipality of Sala Baganza together with ParmaOperArt and enjoys the support of the Tittarelli family.

Two exceptional settings

The concerts take place in two symbolic locations in the town. In spring and autumn-winter, music resonates in the Oratorio dell'Assunta, with its warm and enveloping acoustics. In summer, however, the events move outdoors to the charming courtyard of Rocca Sanvitale, the castle that dominates the historic center of Sala Baganza, for evening concerts under the starry sky.

A program spanning three centuries of music

The 2026 edition, the twentieth, confirms the festival's winning formula: seven concerts spread throughout the year, from March 1st to December. The program alternates great names in international concert performance with young emerging talents, ranging from the baroque music of Bach and Vivaldi to 19th-century grand opera, up to contemporary music.

  • Solo recitals and chamber ensembles (duo, trio, quartet)
  • Famous pieces from the violin, cello, and piano repertoire
  • Evenings dedicated to opera and melodrama, with opera singers and harp
  • Constant space reserved for young talents

A musical tradition of the Parma area

Now in its twentieth edition in 2026, A Tu per Tu has carved out a significant place for itself over the years in the cultural landscape of the Province of Parma, a land with a strong Verdi and operatic musical tradition. The festival is entirely free admission, a choice that makes it a beloved and accessible event, capable of attracting enthusiasts from Parma and throughout Emilia-Romagna.

A Tu per Tu — edition 2026

The 20th edition of A Tu per Tu opens on Sunday, March 1st, 2026, and closes on December 13th with seven free concerts. Under the artistic direction of Claudio Piastra, the program alternates great international soloists and young talents, between the Oratorio dell'Assunta and the summer courtyard of Sala Baganza's Rocca Sanvitale.
