Four days of festivities in the Olmetto hamlet of Bagnolo Piemonte
The Festa ëd San Giors is the most anticipated event of the year for the Olmetto hamlet, a small village in the municipality of Bagnolo Piemonte, nestled at the foot of Monte Bracco in the province of Cuneo. The name, in the Piedmontese dialect, refers to Saint George the Martyr, the community's patron saint: for generations, a popular festival blending devotion, tradition, and community spirit has revolved around his figure.
The event, in its current form, was reborn in 1979 after a long period of inactivity. Since then, the Amici di San Giors association has organized it every spring, transforming Via Olmetto and the festival marquee into the beating heart of the hamlet for a few days.
The program spans four days, usually coinciding with the last weekend of April, and offers a proven mix of entertainment for all ages:
Over the years, the festival has also hosted unique and identity-focused gatherings, such as the Ape Rally and quad bike meets, which have attracted enthusiasts from all over the region.
More than just an event, the Festa ëd San Giors is a moment of collective identity for Olmetto and Bagnolo Piemonte. It is the occasion when the hamlet comes together, welcomes visitors from neighboring villages, and keeps alive a tradition with roots dating back to the early 20th century, as evidenced by old photographs preserved by the community. For those visiting this corner of Piedmont between the Monfreddo area and the Cuneo plains, it is the best way to experience the authentic spirit of a mountain town.
The 2026 Festa ëd San Giors maintained the traditional formula of the Olmetto hamlet, with four days of events at the end of April, featuring music, sports, and communal dining under the marquee.
The program was subject to change at the organizers' discretion.
The festival takes place in the Olmetto hamlet of Bagnolo Piemonte (CN), along Via Olmetto. By car, you can reach Bagnolo Piemonte from the Cuneo plains (Saluzzo, Cavour) and from Turin by following signs for the Po Valley; Olmetto is located on the slopes of Monte Bracco, just above the town center.
Generally held over the last weekend of April, for four consecutive days.
Access to the festival and musical evenings is generally free; the kitchen service under the marquee is fee-based. The Corsa di San Giors requires a registration fee which includes a race pack.
Wear comfortable clothing for outdoor evenings and suitable footwear for those participating in the walk or bike rallies.
