In Buggio, a hamlet of the municipality of Pigna in the hinterland of Imperia, the Festa del Gran Pistau celebrates one of the most iconic dishes of the Val Nervia: the 'gran pistau', a typical soup of cereals and legumes, an example of that poor white mountain cuisine that has fed the communities of the Ligurian Alps for generations.
An evening of taste and music
The festival, traditionally linked to the wheat harvest, takes place on an August evening starting from 7 PM. The gastronomic evening, with the serving of the 'gran pistau' and other local dishes, continues with music and dancing in the heart of the village.

Buggio is one of the most picturesque villages in the Pigna area, within the Regional Natural Park of the Ligurian Alps. The festival is an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Ligurian hinterland, far from coastal tourism, where gastronomic traditions are preserved intact.
