The sausage of Ceriana — the Soussissa Serianasca in the local dialect — is one of the gastronomic excellences of Western Liguria, cited among the twenty best sausages in Italy. The Sagra della Salsiccia celebrates it every year in Ceriana, a village in the hinterland of Sanremo in the province of Imperia, also known for its historic Confraternities.

The soul of the festival is the challenge: the four Confraternities and the four butcher shops of the village compete by proposing their own recipe, in a contest that awards the title of the best sausage of Ceriana. How to get there
Ceriana is located in the hinterland of Sanremo, up the Valle Armea. By car from the A10 exit of Arma di Taggia or Sanremo. It is not served by a train station: the nearest stop is Sanremo or Arma di Taggia.

Free entry; paid consumption at the stands. The festival is traditionally held around the second to last Sunday in August. Confirmed dates are announced by the Municipality and the Confraternities in the preceding days.
