In Pigna, a hilltop village in the Val Nervia in the province of Imperia, the Festa della Lavanda celebrates one of the historic crops of the western Ligurian hinterland. The day begins in the morning with distillation demonstrations of lavender and a craft market, an opportunity to discover essential oils and local products.
From distillation to the festival
In the evening, the festival moves to the sports field, where the trofie al pesto festival takes place, accompanied by music and entertainment. The formula combines the promotion of agricultural products with the conviviality of the village festival, attracting visitors from all over the valley.
In the Ligurian Alps Park
Pigna, with its tower houses and medieval alleys, is one of the most characteristic centers of the Regional Natural Park of the Ligurian Alps. The Festa della Lavanda is part of the rich summer calendar of the Imperia hinterland, often in dialogue with events in nearby hamlets like Buggio.

For 2026, the Festa della Lavanda in Pigna is expected on August 11. The day includes, from the morning, lavender distillation demonstrations and a craft market; in the evening, the festival continues at the sports field with the trofie al pesto festival, music, and entertainment.
