Square concert and Feast of the Assumption on August 15th in the village of Castello Teofilatto

Every summer on August 15th, Torre Cajetani celebrates Ferragosto and the Feast of the Assumption, the most anticipated event of the season. Perched at 817 meters above sea level in the Ernici Mountains, just a few kilometers from Fiuggi, this small Ciociaria village gathers in the main square for a night of live music that draws residents, vacationers, and families returning home for the summer holidays. It is the heart of the local August calendar, a series of events that brings the historic center to life for weeks.
The religious holiday on August 15th is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary Assumed into Heaven, the titular saint of the village's parish church, which houses ancient paintings and the relics of Fra' Marcello. The Solemnity of the Assumption, which coincides with Ferragosto throughout Italy, takes on the feel of a community celebration here: religious rites are complemented by secular festivities organized by the Festival Committee, following a deep-rooted tradition in the villages of Ciociaria.
The centerpiece of the festival is the evening concert in the square, curated by the Torre Cajetani Festival Committee. The 2025 edition featured Santo California, icons of Italian pop music, for a romantic and nostalgic evening. On the eve of the festival, August 14th, the same square hosted the 90'Original Festa featuring Neja, Paps, DJ Nick Peloso, and Francesca Prati, turning the village into a giant open-air party set to the hits of the nineties.
Ferragosto is the highlight of a packed summer schedule. In 2025, the August calendar in Torre Cajetani included:
During these weeks, the Piazza del Comune also hosts a street food festival organized by the Turris in Fabula association, offering a mix of local flavors, music, and entertainment.
Torre Cajetani takes its name from the powerful Caetani family and is built around a 13th-century fortress, Castello Teofilatto, from which the narrow alleys of the medieval center branch out. Just outside the village flows the Le Fontanelle spring, with fifteen water sources possessing properties similar to those of nearby Fiuggi. The Municipality of Torre Cajetani supports the summer calendar alongside local associations, making the mid-August festival a showcase of village life in the most authentic Lazio region: those who climb up to the village for the concert also discover a heritage of history, nature, and Ciociarian cuisine, including oven-baked lamb, traditional pasta, and pecorino cheese.
Ferragosto and the Feast of the Assumption in Torre Cajetani return on August 15th, 2026, but the official program has not yet been published: neither the Municipality nor the Festival Committee has released the summer events calendar. Based on previous editions, the main evening is expected to include the Ferragosto concert in the square, preceded by other August events including festivals, dance nights, open-air cinema, and sports. It is recommended to follow the channels of the Municipality of Torre Cajetani and the Festival Committee for official announcements.
By car: A1 Rome-Naples motorway, exit at Anagni-Fiuggi, then take the Anticolana road towards Fiuggi and follow signs for Torre Cajetani (the village is about 30 km from Frosinone). By train: Anagni-Fiuggi station on the Rome-Cassino line, then regional buses towards Fiuggi and Torre Cajetani.
The Ferragosto events in the square are traditionally free to attend; there is no official ticketing system.
The village is at an altitude of 817 meters: August evenings can be cool, so it is best to bring a sweater. For accommodation, nearby Fiuggi offers a wide range of hotels and spa facilities.
