Games, shows, and workshops for children and families in San Vito Lo Capo
Families Festival is the event that, at the end of June, transforms the heart of San Vito Lo Capo into a large space for play and gathering for families. Promoted by the Municipality of San Vito Lo Capo, in the province of Trapani, the festival is dedicated to childhood and the family, understood as a moment of socialization and inclusion: children, parents, and grandparents share days of outdoor fun in the famous village overlooking the gulf, at the foot of Mount Monaco.
The program revolves around playful, creative, and theatrical activities, many of which are linked to environmental protection with an educational and relational purpose. Hands-on workshops, group games, entertainment shows, and small theatrical performances alternate along the streets and squares of the town, involving children in a journey that combines play and learning. The focus on sustainability and respect for nature is one of the guiding threads of the event, in line with the vocation of San Vito Lo Capo, a municipality overlooking one of the most beautiful natural reserves in Sicily.
Inaugurated in 2025, Families Festival has immediately established itself as one of the appointments that open the summer calendar of San Vito Lo Capo. The end of June is the ideal time to discover the village with children: the climate is already warm but without the large crowds of July and August, and the schedule of festivals, music, and shows is already in full swing. The event thus fits among the happenings that, from the Feast of Saint Vitus the Martyr to the famous Cous Cous Fest in September, mark the town's season.
San Vito Lo Capo has for years been one of the most beloved destinations in western Sicily for family vacations, thanks to its white sandy beach and crystal-clear sea. Events like Families Festival confirm the municipality's vocation for hospitality and inclusion, offering little ones a safe and high-quality entertainment program in the heart of the historic center. An opportunity to experience the Trapani village not only as a seaside resort, but as a community that puts children and families at the center.
The second edition of Families Festival will be held in San Vito Lo Capo from June 26 to 28, 2026, according to the event calendar promoted by the municipal administration. The formula dedicated to childhood and the family as a moment of socialization and inclusion is confirmed, with playful, creative, and theatrical activities, many of which are linked to environmental protection with educational and relational goals.
The detailed program, with times and locations for individual appointments, has not yet been fully published: it will be released by the Municipality of San Vito Lo Capo in the days leading up to the event.
