Two days dedicated to pizza, European culture, and charity in Rivoli
Europizza Fest is the event that transforms the center of Rivoli, located in the province of Turin, into a grand street festival dedicated to pizza, European culture, and solidarity. Promoted by the City of Rivoli in collaboration with TurismOvest and the Twinning Committee, the event was created for Europe Day to celebrate the values of the Union through a popular, participatory format open to all.
The stage for the event is Piazza I Portici, along Via Rombò, in the heart of Rivoli. For two days, three ovens are fired up and local pizzerias take turns, while the square fills with aromas, music, and activities for all ages. The atmosphere is the convivial and welcoming one typical of Piedmontese street festivals, where good food becomes an opportunity for meeting and community.
The star of the edition is master pizzaiolo Luciano Sorbillo, who leads the cooking demonstrations and signs off on the Pizza Europa, a special creation made together with the Twinning Committee using ingredients that evoke Rivoli's twin cities: Kranj (Slovenia), Ravensburg (Germany), Mollet del Vallès (Spain), and Montélimar (France). A symbolic pizza that puts the diversity and unity of the continent on the plate.
Europizza Fest is not just about taste and fun: the event has a strong social value. Part of the proceeds is donated to the 'Custodi del Grano' cultural association, which is committed to promoting agricultural traditions and cooperation. The event is also part of a wider weekend dedicated to volunteering, involving numerous local associations.
With free admission, the quality of its pizzaiolos, and its message of European openness, Europizza Fest is the perfect opportunity to experience Rivoli and Piedmont in an authentic way, amidst flavors, music, and civic engagement. An event that speaks the universal language of pizza to tell the story of Europe.
The 2026 edition of Europizza Fest brought Piazza I Portici in Rivoli to life on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, for Europe Day. The program featured cooking demonstrations, the preparation of the Pizza Europa with ingredients from twin cities, and evening 'Pizza in the Square' with three ovens and three local pizzerias.
Among the most anticipated moments were the appearances by master pizzaiolo Luciano Sorbillo and the 'Hands in the Dough' workshop for children curated by the 'Custodi del Grano' association. Musical entertainment was provided by the Rivoli Rocks Club. The event, with free admission, confirmed its charitable commitment by donating part of the proceeds to charity.
