About Enolia

Enolia is Tuscany's most significant free food and wine event, dedicated to high-quality extra virgin olive oil, artisanal wines, and local specialties. Every May, the Palazzo Mediceo in Seravezza, near Lucca, hosts dozens of producers from across Italy, featuring masterclasses, tastings, and expert-led sessions. Organized by the Fondazione Terre Medicee and the Municipality of Seravezza, Enolia blends culinary culture with the beauty of a UNESCO World Heritage Renaissance residence.

Enolia: Taste as a Cultural Experience

Enolia is Tuscany's largest free food and wine festival, celebrating extra virgin olive oil, artisanal wine, and premium agricultural products. The event takes place every May within the stunning Palazzo Mediceo of Seravezza, in the heart of Versilia (Lucca province), and is organized by the Fondazione Terre Medicee in collaboration with the Municipality of Seravezza.

A Twenty-Five-Year Legacy

Founded in 2000 by Gabriele Ghirlanda, Enolia has evolved into a key reference point for enthusiasts, professionals, and curious foodies alike. What began as a small event focused on olive oil has transformed into a national showcase emphasizing quality, environmental sustainability, and the deep connection between producers and their land. Over the years, the festival has expanded to include a section dedicated to artisanal, natural, and organic wines, curated by journalist and expert Marco Bellentani.

What to Expect at Enolia

The gardens of the Palazzo Mediceo are transformed into a sprawling open-air market divided into thematic areas:

  • The Wine Village, featuring a curated selection of artisanal, natural, and organic labels from all over Italy;
  • The Extra Virgin Olive Oil Showcase, the historic heart of the event;
  • Gourmet and Local Products from across Italy, spanning from the Aosta Valley to Puglia, and from Liguria to Sardinia;
  • Masterclasses, guided tastings, and show cooking with producers, sommeliers, and chefs;
  • Talks and conferences on viticulture, olive growing, and food tourism.

The Palazzo Mediceo: A Unique Setting

Enolia is held at the Palazzo Mediceo of Seravezza, a Renaissance residence commissioned by the Medici family and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site among the Medici Villas and Gardens. Visiting the festival is also an opportunity to discover this architectural jewel nestled in the Apuan Alps, just a few kilometers from the beaches of Forte dei Marmi and the marble quarries that made Versilia famous.

An Event Open to All

Admission to the market is free; those wishing to taste wines and oils can purchase a dedicated tasting kit. Beyond the stands, the historic center of Seravezza comes alive with musical aperitifs and an arts and crafts market, making Enolia a widespread celebration that involves the entire village in the province of Lucca.

Enolia — edition 2026

The 25th edition of Enolia celebrated twenty-five years of the event from May 9 to 11, 2026, at the Palazzo Mediceo in Seravezza. Over fifty companies and three hundred labels were available for tasting, featuring an expanded showcase of extra virgin oils and artisanal wines, masterclasses, and show cooking, with the final day on May 11 dedicated to Forte dei Marmi and industry professionals.

The 2026 edition of Enolia celebrated a major milestone: the twenty-fifth anniversary of the event, which began in 2000. From May 9 to 11, the garden of the Palazzo Mediceo of Seravezza welcomed over fifty companies and approximately three hundred labels, including artisanal, natural, and organic wines, high-quality extra virgin oils, and gastronomic specialties from all over Italy, from the Aosta Valley to Piedmont, from Liguria to Emilia-Romagna, and from Umbria to Puglia and Sardinia.

Alongside the stands, the program featured masterclasses, guided tastings, show cooking, and meetings with producers and experts, while the historic center came alive with musical aperitifs. The event concluded with a special day in Forte dei Marmi reserved for industry professionals, featuring the awards ceremony for the best wines of the edition.
