Tradition at the table in the seaside village of Punta Secca
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Enjoy Barocco Food Fest – Tradition at the Table is a traveling food and wine festival promoted by GAL Terra Barocca as part of the Enjoy Barocco – South East Sicily tourism project, which unites the municipalities of South East Sicily. The inaugural stop takes place in Punta Secca, the enchanting seaside hamlet of Santa Croce Camerina, in the province of Ragusa, made world-famous as the beach of Inspector Montalbano.
For two days, the village square, overlooking the lighthouse and the sea, transforms into a large communal table where producers, artisans, chefs, families, and visitors meet to share and enjoy the identity of the Iblean territory.
Each stop of the festival offers a consistent format that makes food a space for meeting and passing on knowledge:
The Santa Croce Camerina stop is dedicated to some of the local traditional excellences: San Giuseppe bread, cassatelle, and rice and salt cod fritters. The workshop dedicated to San Giuseppe bread, led by the village grandmothers, is one of the most popular moments of the entire event.
From Santa Croce Camerina, the festival continues its journey, touching the other centers of the Iblean Baroque: Ispica, with its new IGP carrot, Ragusa, with the scaccia ragusana, Scicli, with peasant dishes like "Tianu che Ciciri", to conclude in Modica, in the spectacular Castle, with its famous IGP chocolate and fava cottoia beans. A journey that enhances the entire Terra Barocca, a UNESCO World Heritage site in south-eastern Sicily.
The 2026 edition of the Enjoy Barocco Food Fest in Punta Secca has not yet been officially scheduled. The Enjoy Barocco – South East Sicily project, promoted by GAL Terra Barocca, continues its path of tourist enhancement of the Terra Barocca, but the dates and the program for the new Santa Croce Camerina stop are not yet available. Information will be updated as soon as it is communicated by the organizers.
Punta Secca is a hamlet of Santa Croce Camerina, in the province of Ragusa. By car, it can be reached via the SP 25 along the coast; the nearest airports are Comiso (about 30 km) and Catania Fontanarossa (about 100 km). The reference railway station is in Ragusa.
Admission to the event is free. Participation in some workshops and tastings may require a reservation, as communicated by the organizers on the official Enjoy Barocco project channels.
The village of Punta Secca is small: it is advisable to arrive early and park in the outside areas. Don't miss a walk to the lighthouse and the famous house of Montalbano.
