Enduro della Riscossa - Sicily Enduro MTB Cup

A challenge along the trails of the Belice Valley

The Enduro della Riscossa is one of the most anticipated events on the regional mountain bike enduro calendar in Sicily. It takes place in Poggioreale, a small town in the province of Trapani nestled in the hills of the Belice Valley, and serves as a stage of the Sicily Enduro MTB Cup recognized by the Italian Cycling Federation (FCI). Organized by A.S.D. Elimo Bike, the race combines sport, adrenaline, and local promotion, bringing dozens of athletes to compete on natural terrain consisting of ridges, woods, and technical descents.

The course and special stages

The route spans approximately 40 kilometers, with a total elevation gain of about 1,300 meters. The race is divided into three timed special stages, immersed in a hilly landscape that alternates between fast, narrow single tracks, technical sections, and descents that—as the organizers note—demand confidence and control. For the most recent edition, a new special stage was created, a sign of the event's continuous growth. The competition is open to both traditional categories and the e-MTB class, making it accessible to a wide range of enthusiasts.

The spirit of the "Riscossa"

The very name of the race evokes an idea of rebirth. Poggioreale is one of the symbolic villages of the 1968 Belice earthquake: the original historic center, abandoned after the quake, is now an evocative ghost town made of noble palaces, alleys, and walls still standing, recently reopened to visitors thanks to an urban regeneration project. Cycling through these hills means traversing a territory that has known how to react, transforming its history into an opportunity for sports and tourism promotion.
