The Rodi Garganico stop of 'Enarmonia โ the Sound of Peace', featuring sacred venues and sunrise concerts by the sea
Enarmonia in Rodi Garganico is the local stop of 'Enarmonia โ the Sound of Peace', the inaugural concert season of the Melos Aureum Philharmonic Academy, arriving in Rodi Garganico, in the province of Foggia, in the heart of Puglia, during the summer of 2026. With the support of the Municipality of Rodi Garganico, this Gargano village officially joins the network of towns sharing this cultural project, offering six free concerts between late June and late August.
The festival stems from the vision of a 'Gargano City' that unites several municipalitiesโVico del Gargano, Ischitella, Cagnano Varano, Peschici, Rodi Garganico, and Viesteโaround a shared path of music, territory, and community. The initiative is conceived by the newly formed Melos Aureum Philharmonic Academy, led by artistic director and cellist Francesco Mastromatteo, supported by Ida D'Errico and Luigi Russo. As the Academy's president, Giovanni Caruso, notes, these events aim to go beyond simple performance to become 'encounters with beauty, silence, and the community'.
The Rodi Garganico program unfolds across two complementary registers. The evening concerts are held in the sacred sites of the historic center: the Sanctuary of Madonna della Libera and the Church of San Nicola, intimate settings that enhance the chamber repertoire. These are complemented by the evocative sunrise concerts of the 'PortArti l'Alba' series, hosted at the Tourist Port's Piazza del Mare: performances take place in the first light of dawn, when the sky turns pink and the Adriatic is still.
A hallmark of Enarmonia is the promotion of young musicians from the Gargano and Puglia regions, who share the stage with experienced instrumentalists in a cross-generational dialogue. In Rodi Garganico, the lineup features the saxophone quartet led by Manuel Padula, the Melos Aureum String Orchestra conducted by Maestro Gianmichele D'Errico, the Melos clarinet quartet, the Melos Aureum Chamber Orchestra, and chamber ensembles featured in the sunrise concerts, including Francesco Mastromatteo on cello.
With free admission to all events and a program ranging from woodwinds and strings to chamber music, Enarmonia offers residents and visitors the chance to enjoy high-quality music in exceptional settings. For those choosing Rodi Garganico and the Gargano during the summer months, the concerts in the village churches and the musical sunrises at the port represent a unique cultural experience, also supported by the Fondazione dei Monti Uniti di Foggia and numerous local associations.
