The festival uniting Europe through music and youth
The Ën-Pì Festival is one of the most innovative cultural events in the town of Alba, in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe. The name, which means one more in the local dialect, reflects the founding philosophy of the event: every encounter between young people, schools, and artists from different countries adds value, building a common language of music and creative collaboration.
The festival was born in 2022 during the events commemorating the centenary of Beppe Fenoglio, the iconic writer from Alba. Conceived by the Kora Cultural Association and directed by Barbara Borra, president of the association and an Erasmus+ EDA accredited body, the Ën-Pì has progressively developed a strong international dimension, connecting Alba's schools with choral groups and high schools across Europe.
The highlight is ONE!, an original musical developed through a process of co-creation and intercultural dialogue, resulting from an Erasmus+ EDA transnational mobility project. On the stage of the Teatro Sociale in Alba, Italian students from the Kora and Il Teatrino music programs perform alongside dozens of international choristers, in a production that blends acting, choreography, and singing.
Alongside the evening performance, the festival dedicates a morning to local schools with a choral concert hosted in the evocative Church of San Domenico, designed to introduce young people to music and cross-cultural exchange. An educational workshop on creative collaboration completes the program, focusing on the educational and relational models tested during the project.
The Ën-Pì Festival is held under the patronage of the City of Alba and supported by the Fondazione CRC and the Erasmus+ program, with Radio Alba as a media partner. It is an event that showcases Alba and the entire Piedmont region as a European cultural crossroads, capable of bridging the traditions of the Langhe with the young creativity of the continent.
Alba can be reached by car via the A33 Asti-Cuneo motorway (Alba exit) and by train from Alba station, which is connected to Turin and Asti. The Teatro Sociale Giorgio Busca is located in the city center, at Piazza Vittorio Veneto 3.
