An animated Easter Eve celebration for the joy of children in Casaluce
Easter in the Square is the event that brings the squares of Casaluce, a town in the province of Caserta in Campania, to life on Easter Eve. Organized by the Pro Loco of Casaluce "Casaluci" Social Promotion Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Casaluce, the initiative is designed primarily for children and their families, who gather outdoors to celebrate the arrival of Easter together.
The scenic heart of the event is the large giant Easter egg, which is decorated and placed in the square in the days leading up to the celebration. Children can have their photos taken next to the egg for free, with the option to collect the souvenir photos later at the Pro Loco headquarters.
The other central element is the Easter tree: children are invited to create Easter-themed drawings at home and bring them to the Pro Loco stand, where their creations are hung on the tree. In exchange, they receive gifts and sweet surprises, including plush toys with mini eggs, chocolate eggs, and coloring books created by the association.
The morning unfolds with entertainment, music, and various sweets, in a festive atmosphere shared by young and old alike. During the event, there is a raffle for a large chocolate egg, while another is divided and offered to all those present. Adults take the opportunity to exchange greetings and add messages of peace to the day, in line with the spirit of solidarity that accompanies the initiative.
Born as a small neighborhood party, Easter in the Square has grown year after year, changing squares each time (including Piazza Falcone, Piazzetta San Lorenzo, Piazzetta Casalnuovo a Piro, and Piazza Statuto) to reach the different districts of Casaluce. The motto chosen by the association, "Spend Easter with whoever you want, but spend the Eve with us," perfectly sums up the spirit of the event: a simple, free moment to be together, showcase children's creativity, and strengthen the bond between citizens and their Pro Loco.
The fourth edition of Easter in the Square was held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, in Piazza Statuto in Casaluce (CE). The event, promoted by the Pro Loco of Casaluce "Casaluci" with the patronage of the Municipality, invited children to bring their Easter-themed drawings to the stand to be hung on the Easter tree placed in the square.
In exchange for their creations, the little ones received gifts and sweet surprises: plush toys with mini eggs, chocolate eggs, and coloring books created by the association. Next to the decorated giant Easter egg, it was possible to take souvenir photos, which could be collected for free later at the Pro Loco headquarters. The morning was accompanied by entertainment, music, and various sweets, with the raffle of a large chocolate egg and the sharing of a second egg among all those present.
