The evening parade that lights up the streets of downtown Druento
The Druento Night Carnival is an unconventional and highly popular event: no February dates, no daytime parade, but a grand evening celebration held in late spring in the center of Druento, in the Province of Turin, right at the entrance to the famous La Mandria Regional Park. For years, the event has been growing in popularity and attendance, becoming a staple of the Piedmontese event calendar.
The heart of the festival is the parade through the city streets: allegorical floats, masked groups, music, and choreography light up the historic center during the evening hours, with an energy quite different from traditional carnivals. The town's streets—from Piazza Oropa to Via Roma and Via Torino—transform into a path of color and fun that engages families, young people, and visitors from neighboring towns.
Surrounding the parade, the event offers street food, beer, and open shops throughout the evening: a perfect opportunity to dine outdoors and experience the center of Druento in a festive mood. The celebration continues the following day with the hobbyist market in Piazza del Filatoio, dedicated to craftsmanship and handmade creations.
The Night Carnival is promoted by the merchants of Druento with the patronage and support of the Municipality of Druento and the collaboration of local associations. It is a grassroots community festival that unites the town's commercial fabric and local groups in a free event open to everyone.
Visiting Druento during the Night Carnival is also a great opportunity to discover this town in the Turin metropolitan area, the gateway to the La Mandria Regional Park, one of the most important green spaces in Piedmont. It is yet another reason to combine the evening festivities with a day spent outdoors amidst nature, history, and local traditions.
