The festival of Sicilian sweets and Madonie Truffles in the heart of the Madonie mountains
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Dolcemente Castelbuono is the festival dedicated to Sicilian sweets and Madonie Truffles that, every year during the Immaculate Conception period, brings the historic center of Castelbuono to life—one of the most charming villages in the Madonie Park, in the province of Palermo. For an entire weekend, the town's streets and squares turn into a large village of taste, where local pastry traditions meet the magical atmosphere of Christmas.
Castelbuono is famous throughout Sicily for its confectionery and artisanal panettone, known well beyond regional borders. During the event, you can sample the territory's most beloved specialties:
Admission to the event is free. Along the route, the town's historic pastry shops and stalls set up for the occasion offer free tastings, while master pastry chefs perform cooking shows dedicated to traditional sweets. There is also plenty of high-quality street food, local cured meats and cheeses, craft beers, and mulled wine, as well as craft markets where you can purchase local products and art objects.
Dolcemente Castelbuono is also a celebration for children: the village comes alive with circus acts, roaming musical performances, marching bands, bagpipers playing Christmas carols, and a play area set up in Piazza Castello. Children can meet Santa Claus in his cottage and deliver their letters in an atmosphere of true Christmas magic.
The event is organized by the Associazione Baz'Art Sicilia with the support of the Municipality of Castelbuono, in the Sicily Region. More than just a food festival, Dolcemente Castelbuono is an opportunity to discover a medieval village of extraordinary beauty, nestled in the greenery of the Madonie, and to experience Christmas amidst authentic flavors and popular traditions.
The 2026 edition of Dolcemente Castelbuono has not yet been confirmed: at the moment, the organizers have not announced the dates or the program. Following the tradition of previous years, it is likely that the festival of Sicilian sweets and Madonie Truffles will return during the Immaculate Conception period, among the streets and squares of the historic center of Castelbuono, in the province of Palermo. To stay updated on dates and the program, it is recommended to follow the official channels of the event.
Castelbuono can be reached by car via the A20 Palermo-Messina motorway, taking the Castelbuono exit and following signs for the center (about 90 km from Palermo). By train, the Castelbuono station is on the Palermo-Messina line, connected to the historic center by local buses. The nearest airport is Palermo Falcone-Borsellino.
Admission to the event is free. Activities take place in the historic center, generally from morning until evening.
We recommend wearing comfortable shoes for walking through the village streets and planning an overnight stay in the area to explore Castelbuono and the Madonie Park at your leisure. For information: WhatsApp +39 347 7017847.
