The Dattilo Cannolo Fest is one of the most beloved food and wine festivals in the Trapani area, dedicated to the region's signature product: the Dattilo cannolo. The event takes place in the small village of Dattilo, an intimate hamlet of just a few houses in the municipality of Paceco, in the province of Trapani, Sicily. For three evenings, the village comes alive with aromas, flavors, music, and tradition, attracting visitors from across the province and the entire island.

The Dattilo Cannolo

The absolute star of the festival is the Dattilo cannolo, famous for its extra-large size and the purity of its ingredients. The shell is prepared and fried on the spot in front of visitors, while the ultra-fresh, lightly sweetened ricotta is enriched with chocolate chips. The historic bar in Dattilo, located along the route from Palermo to Trapani, has always been a landmark for anyone traveling through this land: the festival was born specifically to celebrate this specialty, which has become an authentic icon of the village.

Atmosphere and Program

During the evenings, the village hosts the Villaggio dei Sapori (Village of Flavors) featuring the best of Sicilian street food and tastings of local Trapani products. There is no shortage of entertainment: live cooking demonstrations with chefs and well-known personalities, comedy shows, live music, dance performances, and the Dattilo Capital of Folklore initiative, which showcases local groups and youth through music and folk traditions. The festival is also designed for families, with dedicated spaces and activities for children.

A Local Event

The Dattilo Cannolo Fest is organized by Pro Loco Dattilo APS, with the support of the Municipality of Paceco and the Libero Consorzio Comunale di Trapani. More than just a food festival, the event serves as an opportunity to promote the region, its traditions, and its historical and scenic heritage. The evenings typically run from late afternoon until late at night, with free admission, in a convivial atmosphere that brings together the local community and many food lovers arriving from afar.
