A day of art, workshops, and performances throughout the town centre of Rignano sull'Arno
The Creativity Festival is the spring highlight that brings the centre of Rignano sull'Arno to life, a town in the province of Florence overlooking the Florentine Valdarno. For an entire Sunday, the streets and squares are filled with stalls, workshops, exhibitions, and performances, in a "diffused" format that invites visitors to wander from square to square to discover a variety of attractions.
The heart of the event lies in the creative workshops designed to engage both adults and children: from LEGO games and workshops to comic book creation, from handcrafted wooden toys to various artistic and manual activities. Alongside these, the traditional market of associations, hobbyists, artisans, and car-boot sales lines the streets, offering a chance to browse through handmade crafts, vintage items, and small local products.
A significant space is dedicated to the visual arts: the Council Chamber and public spaces throughout the town host exhibitions of painting, ceramics, and photography, often linked to the local area and the memories of the Rignano community. Painters and sculptors exhibit in the squares, while book presentations and cultural meetings complete a programme designed to showcase local talent and associations.
Throughout the day, the squares host scattered performances: dance, music, and singing exhibitions, children's entertainment, and fun activities that alternate from morning until late afternoon. The presence of numerous local associations and youth groups makes the festival a true expression of community life in Rignano sull'Arno.
More than just a single event, the Creativity Festival is an opportunity to experience the town centre, support local associations, and spend a spring Sunday in a spirit of conviviality. Food stalls and local shops remain open to welcome visitors throughout the event, set against a classic Tuscan backdrop between the Arno River and the hills of the Valdarno.
The 2026 edition of the Creativity Festival confirmed the "diffused" formula that characterises the event: for the entire day, the streets of the centre hosted the market of associations, hobbyists, artisans, and car-boot sales, while the squares and public spaces were transformed into workshops, exhibitions, and open-air stages. Due to bad weather, the original date of April 19 was postponed to April 27, 2026.
Among the day's offerings were LEGO games and workshops, painting and ceramic exhibitions, photography displays, and family entertainment, all within a festive atmosphere that involved the associations and talents of the Rignano area.
Throughout the day, along the streets of the centre: market of associations, hobbyists, artisans, and car-boot sales, food stalls, and open shops.
The original programme was planned for Sunday, April 19, and, subject to changes due to the rescheduling, was re-proposed on the new date of April 27.
The festival takes place in spring, typically on a Sunday in April, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Historic centre of Rignano sull'Arno (FI): Piazza dei Martiri, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza XXV Aprile, Council Chamber, Ridotto del Bruschi, and the town streets.
By train: Rignano sull'Arno-Reggello station on the Florence-Arezzo line. By car: from Florence via the SR69 along the Valdarno, or from the A1 motorway (Incisa-Reggello-Valdarno exit).
The event is free and open to everyone. Food and drink stalls are available along the route.
