Tuscany's largest trade fair, with free admission
The Scandicci Fair is one of the most beloved and long-standing events in the Florence area. Born in the late 19th century as a livestock market, it has gradually evolved into the most important trade fair in Tuscany with free admission. Every year, at the beginning of October, the center of the town of Scandicci comes alive for nine days with stands, shows, gastronomy, and entertainment, drawing hundreds of thousands of people from across the province of Florence and beyond.
With over 20,000 square meters of space and more than 350 exhibitors, the fair is organized into themed pavilions covering a wide range of sectors:
Among the most anticipated events is the Fierone, the large open-air market that takes over the town center streets on the central Thursday with over two hundred vendors. For families, there is the traditional funfair, which grows every year with new attractions, making the fair a celebration for all ages.
Alongside the stands, the Scandicci Fair offers a dense calendar of initiatives: book presentations, guest talks, sports demonstrations, children's activities, the Ludo in Fiera play area, pet-related events, and meetings on sustainability and urban issues. Some pavilions also host concerts and live shows, expanding the event's cultural offering.
The fair takes place in the center of Scandicci, between Piazzale della Resistenza and the former CNR area, along a path designed to connect the historic center, the new urban hub, and the future city park. Easily accessible by tram from Florence, the Scandicci Fair combines commercial appeal with a major popular event, confirming its status as a key identity-defining appointment for the entire Florence metropolitan area and Tuscany.
From October 3rd to 11th, 2026, the center of Scandicci hosts the new edition of Tuscany's largest trade fair. Spanning over 20,000 square meters, more than 350 exhibitors bring to life themed pavilions dedicated to home living, food and wine, pets, and vehicles, accompanied by street food and dining areas.
The pavilions are open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, while on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday they are open from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM (the final Sunday until 10:00 PM). Dining areas remain open until midnight. The Fierone, the large open-air market on Thursday with over 200 vendors, and the traditional funfair are also confirmed.
