The Pro Loco Carnival of Garzigliana, featuring a masked parade and evening festivities
The Crazy Party – Carnival Edition is the carnival-themed spin-off of the Garzy Party, the historic festival organized by the Pro Loco of Garzigliana, a small town in the Province of Turin, in the heart of the Pinerolo area. Originally launched as a major summer village festival, the Garzy Party found a perfect niche in the Carnival season, bringing the village's traditional masks to the streets and animating a full day of celebration for the entire community.
The heart of the event lies in the official masks of Garzigliana, which parade through the town streets and are celebrated throughout the day. The characters animating the festival include El Cunt ed' Munbrun, La Bela Gioachina, Il Paggio, and La Paesana, the most recent addition to the procession. These masks embody the town's identity and accompany both young and old from the initial gathering to the evening investiture ceremony.
The program is designed to engage every age group. The afternoon is primarily dedicated to children, with a masked parade, games, bouncy castles, and a complimentary snack. There is no shortage of entertainment, including performances by clowns and artists, while the evening turns into a convivial gathering with dinner, music, and dancing at the Pro Loco headquarters on Via San Martino 2.
Like many village festivals in Piedmont, the Crazy Party of Garzigliana is entirely powered by the volunteers of the Pro Loco and represents one of the most cherished moments in the town's life. It is an opportunity to rediscover local traditions, regional masks, and the community spirit that characterizes the small towns surrounding Turin. It is an informal and genuine event, far from the major tourist carnivals but authentic in its bond with the village and its inhabitants.
The event takes place in Garzigliana, in the Province of Turin. The meeting point is at the oratory on Vicolo Parrocchiale 1, from where the parade departs toward the Pro Loco headquarters on Via San Martino 2, the hub for both afternoon and evening festivities. Reservations for dinner are appreciated; please contact the Pro Loco.
The 2026 edition of the Crazy Party – Carnival Edition in Garzigliana featured a highlight: the debut of the mask La Paesana, portrayed by Miranda Bessone, who joined the town's historical procession. A festival deeply felt by the community, animated as always by the volunteers of the Pro Loco.
The starring masks: El Cunt ed' Munbrun (Maurizio Giordana), La Bela Gioachina (Alessia Caffaro), Il Paggio (Nicholas Boglione), and the new entry La Paesana (Miranda Bessone). Bar and cocktail bar open throughout the evening.
Garzigliana is located in the Pinerolo area, in the Province of Turin. By car, it is easily accessible from Pinerolo and Turin by following the provincial roads across the plains between the Chisone and Pellice rivers. The meeting point is the oratory at Vicolo Parrocchiale 1; the festivities continue at the Pro Loco headquarters on Via San Martino 2.
For the evening dinner, reservations are recommended by calling the Garzigliana Pro Loco at: +39 348 5651070 or +39 334 2782725.
The event is family-friendly, with bouncy castles, games, and a snack provided in the afternoon. We recommend arriving by the meeting time so as not to miss the masked parade.
