A country festival in the heart of the Simbruini Mountains

For one summer Saturday, the village of Trevi nel Lazio, in the province of Frosinone, dresses up as the Far West. The Country Festival, organized by the Pro Loco Trevi nel Lazio APS, turns the streets and squares of the historic center into a small Western village where music, dance, and local flavors meet in an atmosphere designed for the whole family. The event is part of the calendar of initiatives for the Simbruini Mountains Regional Natural Park, the largest protected area in the Lazio region.

Perched at an altitude of over 800 meters in the upper Aniene Valley, Trevi nel Lazio is one of the most charming villages in the Ciociaria mountains, dominated by the massive Castello Caetani and surrounded by the forests of the Simbruini Mountains. Music, dancing, and games for all ages

From late afternoon, the festival comes alive with country-themed music and games designed for both adults and children. The entertainment is led by the ASD Formazione Danza di Iolanda Rocchi, which brings numerous dancers to the square with choreographic performances that engage the audience: passion, elegance, and energy in a show that accompanies the evening in the heart of the village.

The children's Western village

One of the most original aspects of the Country Festival is the space reserved for the little ones: the ASD Scuderia San Pietro Eremita sets up a true child-sized Western village, where young cowboys can experience their first saddle ride, go for pony walks, and take a souvenir photo with their small four-legged friends. An experience that introduces children to the world of horses in a safe and playful setting.

Local flavors

As in any self-respecting village festival, the streets of the historic center are filled with food stalls featuring local products: an opportunity to taste the specialties of Ciociaria mountain cuisine, pairing music and dancing with the genuine flavors of the upper Aniene Valley.

The Country Festival is one of the initiatives with which the Pro Loco enlivens the summer in Trevi nel Lazio, a calendar that culminates at the end of August with the celebrations and the Palio in honor of San Pietro Eremita, the town's patron saint.
