The Rib Festival (Sagra della Costina) is a summer culinary event held in Castelnuovo Vomano, a bustling village in the municipality of Castellalto, in the province of Teramo, in the heart of Abruzzo. The festival takes place at the Via Rossini Bocciodromo, a spacious and well-equipped venue that transforms every summer into a major gathering spot for locals from the Vomano valley and visitors alike.
Abruzzese Charcoal-Grilled Cuisine
The star of the festival is the charcoal-grilled rib, the absolute highlight of the menu alongside the great tradition of open-fire cooking. Every evening, the food stalls serve up classic dishes of popular Abruzzese cuisine:

- Arrosticini, the famous sheep skewers that are a symbol of Abruzzo

Costina Festival — edition 2026
ASD Carboni Ardenti is hosting the 7th edition of the Rib Festival, scheduled from July 30 to August 2, 2026, at the Bocciodromo on Via Rossini in Castelnuovo Vomano.
Four evenings dedicated to great taste and tradition, featuring ribs, arrosticini, fritters, sausages, and fried cheese, all accompanied by live music and plenty of surprises to liven up the event.

How to get there
By car: take the A14 motorway exit at Mosciano Sant'Angelo–Teramo or Val Vibrata, then follow the SS150 of the Vomano Valley. Castelnuovo Vomano is located along the road connecting the Adriatic coast to Teramo.
