In Caldè - a hamlet of the Municipality of Castelveccana, in the province of Varese, overlooking Lake Maggiore - summer is marked by a series of festivals organized by Pro Loco Castelveccana. Among the most appreciated is the Costina and Porchetta Festival, which brings three days of taste and music to the lakeside in July.
Flavors of the Festival
The stars of the table are the ribs, marinated with aromatic herbs and slowly cooked on a soapstone griddle, and the porchetta from Ariccia, accompanied by a vegetarian menu with grilled vegetables and local cheeses for those who prefer a meat-free alternative. A carefully curated gastronomic offering that combines the tradition of grilling with the quality of the ingredients.
Music on the Lakeside
Each evening is accompanied by live concerts and piano bar sessions, with bands and ensembles ranging from soul to funk to pop dance. You eat outdoors, on the Caldè lakeside, with a view of Lake Maggiore and the famous beach with the remains of ancient lime kilns. The 2026 edition of the Costina and Porchetta Festival of Caldè is expected, as tradition dictates, on a weekend in July on the Caldè lakeside, in the hamlet of Castelveccana. Pro Loco Castelveccana will again offer marinated ribs cooked on soapstone, porchetta from Ariccia, and a vegetarian menu, with live concert evenings and piano bar.
