Aronese summer featuring music, cinema, dance, and performances on Lake Maggiore
In Arona, an elegant lakeside town in the province of Novara, Piedmont, summer comes alive with ArONa Light Up Your Summer, a festival that animates the lakefront and city squares from June to September with a packed calendar of events. Promoted by the Municipal Administration of Arona in collaboration with Pro Loco Arona, Ascom, the Red Cross (Arona-Lesa Committee), and the Lake District, the event has a distinctive feature that makes it particularly popular: all scheduled events are free to attend.
The heart of the festival is a recurring weekly program that marks the rhythm of Arona's summer evenings:
Alongside the fixed program, the season lights up with several highlight events. At the evocative Rocca Borromea, the Le Voci dell'Alba (Voices of the Dawn) series takes shape: a full-moon show blending music, science, and history with an astrophysicist, followed by an intense candlelight acoustic concert. The most anticipated moment is the Notte Rosa (Pink Night), four days of celebration from Lungolago Repubblica to Piazza del Popolo, featuring music, DJ sets, and the interactive art installation COSMOSI in Piazza San Graziano. The grand finale of the Notte Rosa is entrusted to Lumina, a pyro-musical show that lights up the sky over Lake Maggiore.
Closing the season is Arona Insieme On Stage, two days dedicated to local youth and associations, featuring music, sports, food, and family entertainment. It is Arona's way of bidding farewell to summer and celebrating the vitality of its community.
Created to enhance the lakefront and the city's most beautiful spots, ArONa Light Up Your Summer weaves together culture, entertainment, and social life in a unique landscape: Lake Maggiore. Cinema, concerts, dance, and workshops alternate in an offering designed for residents and tourists of all ages, confirming Arona as one of the most vibrant destinations in the Piedmontese summer.
Building on the success of its debut, the 2026 second edition of ArONa Light Up Your Summer expands its reach by involving new city locations. The weekly appointments return: Open-Air Cinema on Tuesdays in Piazza San Graziano, readings and workshops on Wednesdays at the Arena 2ke20, Music by the Lake on Thursdays between Piazza del Popolo, the Parlamentino, and Lungolago Marconi, and Dance by the Lake on Fridays at the Lido with podcasts and DJ sets.
Special events include the Le Voci dell'Alba series at the Rocca Borromea, with the full-moon show on June 30 and the candlelight concert on July 23, and the Notte Rosa from July 30 to August 2, featuring the COSMOSI installation and the Lumina pyro-musical grand finale. The season concludes on September 11 and 12 with Arona Insieme On Stage.
Arona is easily accessible by train: the station is located on the Milan-Domodossola line, just a short walk from the lakefront. By car, the reference exit is Arona on the A26 'dei Trafori' motorway. The nearest airports are Milan Malpensa (about 40 minutes away) and Turin Caselle.
All festival events are free and take place mainly in the evening, along the lakefront, in the town squares, at the Lido, and at the Rocca Borromea.
For highly attended events like the Notte Rosa, it is advisable to arrive early and prioritize peripheral parking or the train. For the updated calendar, please refer to the official channels of the Municipality of Arona.
