Corsa nelle Vigne

A run through the rows of the Roero

The Corsa nelle Vigne is one of the most anticipated spring events in Castellinaldo d'Alba, a small wine-growing village in the Province of Cuneo, in the heart of the Piedmontese Roero. It is a non-competitive fun run open to everyone, winding for about 7 kilometers through the vineyards that have made the Castellinaldo Barbera d'Alba famous, offering participants evocative views of the hills at sunset.

Organization and spirit of the event

The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Castellinaldo in collaboration with the Gruppo Podisti Albesi, under the direction of the historic walker Pier Aldo Scoffone. It is not a timed race but a convivial walk-run, designed for athletes as well as families and outdoor walking enthusiasts. The atmosphere is typical of Piedmontese village festivals: sporty but relaxed, with a strong sense of community.

Meeting point and route

The meeting point is at the sports field in Piazza delle Aie, the start and finish point of the event. The adult start takes place in the evening, allowing participants to tackle the rows in the warm evening light. The route, updated in recent editions, crosses the vineyards and country lanes around the village, with medical support guaranteed along the way and refreshments at the finish for all participants.

Wine and awards

The signature feature of the Corsa nelle Vigne is the oenological prize: every adult participant receives a bottle of wine offered by local producers, a gift that celebrates the winemaking vocation of Castellinaldo. There are also awards for the five largest running clubs, to encourage the participation of local sports groups. An event that authentically combines sport, the hilly landscape of the Roero, and the culture of fine Piedmontese wine.
