Author concerts at the foot of the Grand Combin
Promoted and organized by the cultural association Combin en Arts APS, with the artistic direction of Federico Bagnasco, Combin en Musique is the festival that has enlivened the summer of the upper Grand Combin valley, in Valle d'Aosta, for several years. Its peculiarity lies in the very close relationship between music and the territory: the concerts are not held in a theatre, but in the symbolic places of the small municipalities of the Mountain Community, from Romanesque churches to high-altitude meadows.
The festival winds through the villages of Doues, Ollomont, Oyace, Roisan, and Valpelline, in the province of Aosta, with musical excursions that accompany the public towards the By and Acque Bianche reservoirs or towards the Tornalla of Oyace. Starting from the 2026 edition, the network of involved municipalities is expanding, also including Allein and Bionaz: a sign of the growth of an event that creates a dialogue between the alpine landscape and musical creation.
The festival's hallmark is its freedom from genre: masterpieces of the classical repertoire, pieces by living composers, jazz and folk contaminations coexist in the program. Over the years, the lineup has hosted acclaimed string soloists, wind ensembles, and commissioned projects, often inspired by the mountains and the Valle d'Aosta landscape. The ArCombin – Musical Paths project, dedicated to string instruments, is one of the guiding threads of the festival.
All Combin en Musique concerts are free and open to everyone, in line with the festival's aim to bring great music to a wide audience, in a natural setting of rare beauty.
The ninth edition of Combin en Musique confirms the formula that has made the festival famous: classical and author music spread across the villages at the foot of the Grand Combin, in Valle d'Aosta. The novelty for 2026 is the expansion of the network of municipalities, which welcomes Allein and Bionaz for the first time alongside Doues, Ollomont, Oyace, Roisan, and Valpelline.
