About CircoXperience

CircoXperience is the only Italian festival that intertwines circus arts with scientific outreach. For three days, the MUSE – Science Museum of Trento transforms into a vast open-air laboratory, featuring acrobatic shows, interactive workshops, and experiences for all ages. Acrobats, jugglers, and researchers engage in dialogue under two large circus tents, demonstrating how the wonder of acrobatic movement and scientific curiosity are two sides of the same discovery.

A festival that unites science and circus

CircoXperience is the first and only Italian festival that combines circus arts and scientific outreach. Launched in 2025 by the MUSE – Science Museum of Trento, the event transforms the famous museum designed by Renzo Piano, in the heart of the capital of Trentino-Alto Adige, into a large open-air laboratory where acrobatics, juggling, and balancing become the pretext for exploring physics, mathematics, and the laws of motion.

Shows, workshops, and experiences

In the gardens and throughout the spaces of the MUSE, in the Municipality of Trento, the public finds two large circus tents, an outdoor stage, and the Xcape Caravan, a mysterious trailer housing a circus-themed escape room. The program alternates evening shows, acrobatic performances, family workshops, and interactive trails designed for children, teenagers, and adults.

  • Contemporary circus shows with acrobats, jugglers, and tightrope walkers
  • Scientific workshops explaining the physics of acrobatic movement
  • Interactive exhibition paths created in collaboration with schools and high schools
  • Performative moments that weave together speech, science, and movement

A bridge between art and knowledge

The scientific and artistic direction is entrusted to Sara Berni, Tommaso Brunelli, and Pietro Olla, in collaboration with the Trentino circus school Bolla di Sapone. Each edition brings together dozens of artists and companies from Italy and abroad, with a special focus on the dialogue between live performance and research. The underlying idea is simple yet powerful: the wonder we feel before a circus act and the awe of scientific discovery stem from the same desire to understand the world.

Why visit

CircoXperience is an event designed for all ages, ideal for families, circus enthusiasts, and science curious. The setting of the MUSE, with its contemporary architecture and collections, adds unique value to the experience, making this festival one of the most original summer offerings in Trento and the entire Trentino-Alto Adige region.
