Conversations with cinema icons in the Giardino della Torre, San Vincenzo
Cinema Mon Amour is the summer series of encounters with the protagonists of the seventh art, held in San Vincenzo, in the province of Livorno, along the famous Etruscan Coast in Tuscany. Launched in the summer of 2024 and curated by film critic Fabio Canessa, the event immediately received an enthusiastic response, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated cultural highlights of the San Vincenzo summer.
The heart of the festival is dialogue. Each evening, Fabio Canessa interviews a guest from the world of cinema—directors, screenwriters, actors, writers, and scholars—who retraces their career through anecdotes, reflections, and behind-the-scenes stories. These are not film screenings, but genuine live conversations that allow the audience to connect directly with those who have written important chapters in the history of Italian and international cinema.
The setting for these encounters is the evocative Giardino della Torre in the center of San Vincenzo: an open-air space that transforms into a cultural salon under the summer sky. Events generally begin at 9:30 PM and admission is free, reflecting the festival's commitment to bringing cinematic culture to the widest possible audience.
Throughout its editions, the festival has hosted leading figures and faces of Italian cinema. Guests who have graced the Giardino della Torre include award-winning directors, screenwriters, and nationally renowned critics, all capable of sharing the charm and memory of one of the most beloved arts with the San Vincenzo public.
Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea between Piombino and the Val di Cornia, San Vincenzo is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Livorno coast, known for its beaches and its proximity to the Rimigliano Natural Park. Cinema Mon Amour enriches the town's summer cultural offerings, blending the allure of the sea with the great tradition of cinema.
The 2026 edition of Cinema Mon Amour maintains the format of conversation-based encounters in the Giardino della Torre of San Vincenzo, with a program spanning the entire summer, from June to August. Once again, the festival is curated and hosted by film critic Fabio Canessa, who engages in dialogue with directors, screenwriters, actors, and scholars of the big screen. All evenings begin at 9:30 PM with free admission.
