About My Favourite Things โ€“ Riccardo Pocci

From June 20 to September 15, 2026, Campiglia Marittima pays tribute to Riccardo Pocci, the Tuscan painter and engraver who passed away in 2024. The "My Favourite Things" exhibition brings together the artist's most iconic works at Palazzo Pretorio and the Museo Carlo Guarnieri: a gallery of paintings and woodcuts created over twenty years of expressive research, including a selection of recent and previously unseen pieces. The exhibition path engages in a dialogue with the great woodcut tradition of Campiglia.

A tribute to Riccardo Pocci in the heart of the Val di Cornia

From June 20 to September 15, 2026, the medieval village of Campiglia Marittima, in the province of Livorno, hosts My Favourite Things, a major tribute exhibition dedicated to Riccardo Pocci (Piombino, 1972 โ€“ 2024), the Tuscan painter, engraver, and woodcut artist who spent his childhood and youth in Campiglia. The exhibition is promoted by the Municipality of Campiglia Marittima in collaboration with the Riccardo Pocci Archive and the Val di Cornia Parks.

Two venues, one unique journey

The exhibition is spread across two iconic locations in the historic center of Campiglia. Palazzo Pretorio houses the paintings, while a selection of woodcuts is displayed in the halls of the Museo permanente Carlo Guarnieri. This is no coincidence: the dialogue between Pocci and Carlo Guarnieri, the undisputed master of 20th-century Italian woodcut art and a guardian figure of Campiglia, runs through the entire project, telling the story of an engraving vocation deeply rooted in this territory.

Twenty years of research

The exhibition path gathers the artist's most iconic works, a gallery of paintings and woodcuts produced over twenty years of expressive research. Special attention is given to the most recent and partially unpublished production. Having trained in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and later earning a doctorate in Aesthetics and Art Theory, Pocci combined photography, painting, and graphic design in his work, blending traditional and contemporary techniquesโ€”from gouache and inks to airbrushing. His works are now featured in private and corporate collections in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the Czech Republic, North America, and Qatar.

Curatorship and texts

The exhibition is curated by Andrea Ponsini and Lise Carta, with critical texts by Andrea Baldocchi, Lorenzo Canova, and Lise Carta. The project showcases not only the technical quality of Pocci's work but also his human and artistic bond with Campiglia Marittima and Tuscany.

More than just an exhibition: widespread events

Throughout the summer, the tribute is enriched by a program of side events: conferences, guided toursโ€”including night tours in the charming villageโ€”and a major final musical tribute at Villa Mussio. An opportunity to discover the work of a local artist while strolling through the stone alleys of one of the most beautiful villages on the Etruscan Coast.

My Favourite Things โ€“ Riccardo Pocci โ€” edition 2026

The 2026 edition of My Favourite Things opens on June 20 with a vernissage at 6:00 PM and remains open until September 15. Paintings at Palazzo Pretorio and woodcuts at the Museo Guarnieri create a complete portrait of Riccardo Pocci, enriched by conferences, guided night tours, and a tribute concert at Villa Mussio.

The first edition of the My Favourite Things exhibition represents the tribute of the Campiglia Marittima community to Riccardo Pocci, just over a year after the artist's passing. The display is distributed between the halls of Palazzo Pretorio, dedicated to painting, and those of the Museo Carlo Guarnieri, where Pocci's woodcuts engage in a dialogue with those of the great 20th-century master. Alongside the exhibition path, a busy calendar of events accompanies visitors throughout the summer.
