Cinema in Rocca is the premier summer film event in San Gimignano, one of Tuscany's most iconic villages in the province of Siena. Every summer, the evocative Rocca di Montestaffoli, an ancient fortress overlooking the town's medieval skyline, transforms into an open-air cinema arena. Watching a film here becomes an unforgettable experience, surrounded by historic walls and views of the UNESCO-listed towers.

Screenings take place every evening at 9:30 PM from early July to early September, offering spectators a long and varied program. The festival is organized by the Municipality of San Gimignano in partnership with the Pro Loco and Valdelsa Cinema, which curates the selection of films shown at the Rocca.

The festival also participates in the national Cinema Revolution – Che spettacolo l'estate project promoted by the Ministry of Culture, which offers Italian and European films at a special reduced price, encouraging audiences to return to the cinema even during the summer months.
