Slow tourism among the vineyards of the Asti Monferrato
Ciclovino is a wine and cycle tourism event that brings the UNESCO-recognized hills of the Asti Monferrato to life every spring and summer. The festival offers a day of slow tourism where participants cycle—using standard or e-bikes—along a route connecting some of the area's most iconic wineries. The town of Coazzolo is a key stop, alongside Castagnole delle Lanze, Costigliole d'Asti, and Montegrosso, all located in the province of Asti, Piedmont.
The main loop covers approximately 45 kilometers on secondary, low-traffic roads immersed in the vineyards that shape the Monferrato hills. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, a shortened 20-kilometer route is available, visiting four wineries of your choice. The pace is entirely up to you: start in the morning and return in the afternoon, with the whole day to enjoy the scenery, stops, and tastings.
The heart of the day lies in the eight participating wineries, where cyclists are welcomed for tours and tastings of local wines. Participating estates include:
Each stop includes a tasting, creating a culinary journey that showcases the great Asti wines, from Barbera d'Asti to Moscato, alongside the signature labels of each producer.
Ciclovino was created to promote the Asti Monferrato through slow, sustainable tourism that combines light exercise, food and wine, and landscape discovery. The event is particularly popular with those looking to experience the Langhe and Monferrato authentically, away from mass tourism, rediscovering villages and wineries at the pace of a bicycle. The event is promoted by the Province of Asti, in collaboration with technical partners for e-bike rentals and registration management.
The event is suitable for both experienced cyclists and those who prefer the ease of an electric bike, thanks to rental services available at various points along the route. Families, couples, and wine lovers will find in Ciclovino the perfect opportunity to spend a day outdoors in the Piedmontese hills, blending physical activity with culinary culture in the heart of the Asti province.
The 2026 edition was held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, among the hills of the Asti Monferrato. The main route of approximately 45 kilometers passed through the towns of Castagnole delle Lanze, Costigliole d'Asti, Montegrosso, and Coazzolo, with a shorter 20-kilometer variant dedicated to four wineries of choice.
Eight wineries participated: Bel Sit Winery and Dogliotti 1870, Boeri Vini, Azienda Giachino, Cascina Ciuchè, Azienda Criolin, Tenuta La Graziosa, and Cascina Carlot in Coazzolo.
Daily program:
