The Carnival dedicated to children in the heart of Limone Piemonte
The Children's Carnival is the most anticipated family event in the winter calendar of Limone Piemonte, a renowned tourist destination in the Maritime Alps in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. For one afternoon, the town's historic center fills with confetti, music, and laughter: the absolute stars are the little ones, who arrive in costume to experience the magic of Carnival together.
The heart of the event is the historic center, between Via Roma and the Town Hall Square. The festival kicks off with the inaugural parade of children in costume on the Town Hall steps, an unmissable moment that launches an afternoon of games and entertainment. Its location, in the heart of the alpine town, makes the event easily accessible and perfect to combine with a day in the snow.
The program is designed to engage children and teenagers of all ages along with their families. Some of the most popular activities include:
The entertainment is provided by professional children's performers, who accompany the young guests throughout the afternoon with music and group activities.
The Children's Carnival is part of the rich Limone for Family program, a series of events that the town dedicates to families during the winter season. The festival in the historic center thus becomes part of a range of initiatives designed to give children moments of play and discovery in a welcoming and safe alpine setting.
Among the traditions of the Italian Carnival, classic masks like Harlequin are often the stars of the activities and stories offered to children. The Children's Carnival of Limone Piemonte thus combines the fun of dressing up with the rediscovery of the most beloved folklore figures, in a festive and family-friendly setting that brings the town's winter season to a beautiful close.
On Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM, the Children's Carnival brought the Town Hall Square of Limone Piemonte to life. Children and teenagers aged 2 to 14 were welcomed with their families for an afternoon of celebration.
The festival opened with the inaugural parade of children in costume on the Town Hall steps, followed by creative workshops, face painting, musical games, baby dance, and lots of joy. Two face-painting stations decorated faces throughout the afternoon.
The theme of the 2026 edition was the Harlequin costume: as the legend of the Bergamo mask tells, many pieces donated by the poor character's friends make up his famous colorful patchwork outfit. The event was part of the Limone for Family program.
The Children's Carnival traditionally takes place on a Saturday afternoon during the Carnival period, starting in the early afternoon.
