A widespread festival for children and teens among the trulli of Alberobello
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Children and Youth City Festival is a cultural event that every autumn turns Alberobello, in the province of Bari, into a vast space dedicated to childhood and reading. Promoted and organized by the Sylva Tour and Didactics APS association, the festival brings workshops, performances, and meetings to the streets and squares of the UNESCO-listed historic center and the charming Coreggia hamlet, creating a widespread itinerary where every corner of the town becomes an open-air classroom.
The program is designed for children and teenagers from early childhood through adolescence and involves dozens of local Apulian organizations. The days, which typically run from morning until evening, offer a packed schedule of free appointments spanning numerous disciplines:
The Children and Youth City Festival is more than just a collection of activities: it is an educational project that strengthens the bond between young people, their community, and the urban space they inhabit. The choice to distribute events between the center of Alberobello and the Coreggia hamlet showcases the entire municipal territory and invites families to rediscover places often off the beaten tourist path.
The event takes place under the auspices of Cepell (Center for Books and Reading) and with the patronage of the Municipality of Alberobello, thanks to the contribution of the Puglia Regional Council, the Bari Chamber of Commerce, and the Fondazione Puglia. Admission to activities is free, with reservations recommended for individual workshops.
Experiencing Alberobello during the festival means discovering the City of Trulli through the eyes of children: a weekend where culture becomes play, the alleys fill with laughter, and Puglia shows its most welcoming and family-friendly side.
In 2026, Alberobello celebrates thirty years since the UNESCO recognition of its trulli with a rich calendar of events, the We Are in Trulli - Summer Edition 2026 festival, which runs from June to October with over one hundred appointments. Within this program, the return of the Children and Youth City Festival, the autumn event dedicated to childhood curated by Sylva Tour and Didactics APS, is confirmed.
At the moment, the specific dates and the detailed program for the 2026 edition have not yet been released. Based on previous editions, the event usually takes place in mid-October and offers a weekend of free workshops between the historic center and the Coreggia hamlet. We will update this page as soon as the organizers publish the official calendar and program.
