Gravel cycling gathering in the heart of Montefeltro
Cerigna Gravel is the cycling gathering that annually attracts gravel, mountain bike, and road bike enthusiasts to the heart of Montefeltro, among the hills and white roads surrounding Monte Cerignone, a small village in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region. It is not a competitive race but a self-supported gathering, designed to experience the territory by bicycle, in a spirit of sport and conviviality.
The event is part of the "Bici in Comune – Comunità più Smart" project, the "Montefeltro in Comune" initiative which led to the creation of a network of over fifty kilometers of cycling routes between the Municipalities of Monte Cerignone and Monte Grimano Terme. The routes have been designed to highlight the scenic beauty of the Marche hinterland, featuring panoramic ridges, woods, and ancient stone villages dominated by the fortresses and castles of Montefeltro.
Participants can choose from different routes, suitable for both experienced cyclists and those seeking a more relaxed and immersive experience:
Upon registration, participants receive the GPS track to follow along their chosen route, in the self-supported gathering format.
The meeting point is set from 7:00 AM at "Il Giardino di Simone" in Monte Cerignone, with the registration desk opening and staggered departures from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM. Upon return, from 12:00 PM onwards, a refreshment area with food stalls and local typical products will be open, an ideal opportunity to share the experience and discover the region's excellences.
Ample space is dedicated to families and children: from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, a cycling gymkhana for children aged 6 to 11 will be held, while in the afternoon, starting from 3:00 PM, collateral activities and initiatives dedicated to sustainable mobility are planned.
Participating in Cerigna Gravel also means getting to know Monte Cerignone, a village in Montefeltro famous for its medieval fortress and the historical Mons Cerignonis festival. The ride thus becomes a way to experience an authentic corner of the Marche hinterland at a slow pace, amidst nature, history, and local hospitality.
