A Village That Becomes a Christmas Village

In the festive days leading up to Christmas, the medieval village of Sant'Agata Feltria, in the province of Rimini (Emilia-Romagna), dresses up for the holidays and brings Il Paese del Natale to life, the national fair that annually draws thousands of curious visitors from all over Italy. Nestled among the hills of Valmarecchia, at the foot of Rocca Fregoso commissioned by Francesco di Giorgio Martini, the village transforms into an authentic Christmas village where the cobblestone streets, squares, and historic buildings provide a natural backdrop for one of central Italy's most beloved winter events.

Markets, Crafts, and Atmosphere

Along the streets of the historic center, a large market unfolds with dozens of exhibitors: gift ideas, artistic craft objects, tasteful decorations and ornaments, all enveloped in an atmosphere rich in charm and ancient traditions. Accompanying the stroll are the ever-present bagpipers and Christmas bands, filling the alleys with the typical melodies of the holidays.

Santa Claus House and Themed Houses

The heart of the event is the Santa Claus House, set up in the market square next to the Elves' workshop. Here, children can drop their letters into the red mailbox, entrusting them to Natalino, the Elves' postman, and breathe in the aroma of Natalina's hot chocolate. Around it, other themed houses dedicated to the world of Christmas come to life, with workshops for the little ones and themed projections.

Nativity Scenes and "A Riveder le Stelle"

Among the most evocative attractions is the route of the artistic nativity scenes, handcrafted and displayed along the oldest street in the village and near Rocca Fregoso. The exhibition route "A Riveder le Stelle" features masterfully crafted dioramas that enchant both adults and children, confirming the village's dedication to the nativity tradition.

Flavors of Advent

The gastronomic aspect is not forgotten: the village restaurants offer "I Piatti dell'Avvento" (Advent Dishes), menus inspired by the territory's ancient Christmas customs, while stands along the streets offer typical products and local specialties. For those wishing to eat sheltered from the cold, there is also "La Mangiatoia" (The Manger), a covered and heated pavilion serving Christmas cuisine.
