A day of free sports for everyone at Parco Fellini in Gambettola
The Sport Festival is one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Gambettola, a town in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in the heart of Romagna in Emilia-Romagna. Every year, Parco Federico Fellini is transformed into a true open-air gym, where numerous local sports associations present themselves to the public with exhibitions, demonstrations, and activities open to everyone.
The event, completely free, is designed to involve children, teenagers, adults, and families. In the green park, stands and areas dedicated to various disciplines alternate: from martial arts to volleyball, from dance to tennis, from hiking to wellness and movement activities. Visitors can watch the exhibitions, but above all, try the proposed sports themselves, guided by instructors from local clubs.
The heart of the festival is Gambettola's associative fabric, which has animated this day for over twenty years. Among the organisations that traditionally participate are clubs for football, volleyball, tennis, judo, dance and choreographic arts, cycling, hiking, and volunteering. The event is also linked to the "Gambettola Cammina" format, which promotes outdoor physical activity as a healthy and accessible lifestyle.
The Sport Festival is part of the rich summer program "Il Bosco Ritrovato" (The Rediscovered Woods), the Gambettola Municipality's festival which, from June to the end of October, offers over fifty events including cinema, theatre, books, puppets, concerts, exhibitions, games, and gastronomy. In this context, the festival represents the moment dedicated to sport and well-being, confirming Gambettola's vocation as an active town attentive to the quality of life of its inhabitants.
More than just a sporting event, the Sport Festival is a community celebration: an opportunity to discover the opportunities offered by local clubs, to introduce young people to sports, and to share an afternoon of movement, joy, and socialising in the green Parco Fellini.
The 2026 edition of the Gambettola Sport Festival reaches its twenty-fifth edition. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Parco Federico Fellini.
Under the banner "Gambettola Cammina" (Gambettola Walks), local sports associations offer free sports activities open to all, with demonstrations and free try-outs in various disciplines. The event is part of the "Il Bosco Ritrovato 2026" summer program by the Municipality of Gambettola.
The detailed program of individual exhibitions will be defined by the participating associations closer to the event.
The Sport Festival is held at Parco Federico Fellini in Gambettola (via Sopra Rigossa), in the province of Forlì-Cesena. Admission is free and the event is open to everyone.
By car: Gambettola is accessible from the Cesena Nord motorway exit (A14), a few kilometres from the centre.
By train: Gambettola station is on the Bologna-Rimini line, a short distance from Parco Fellini.
Comfortable sportswear is recommended for participating in the free try-outs. The event takes place outdoors; in case of bad weather, check for any changes on the Gambettola Municipality's channels.
