An evening of wine, flavours, and music in the Berardenga region
Every June 2nd, the village of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the Province of Siena, celebrates the best of its territory with Castelnovino, an evening entirely dedicated to the wines, flavours, and music of the Berardenga region. The event takes place in the evocative setting of Villa Chigi Saracini, accessible from via Berardenga near the Clock Tower, and guides guests from 6 PM until midnight on a journey that blends tastings, gastronomy, and wine culture.
Castelnuovo Berardenga is one of the iconic towns of the Chianti Classico region, situated at the south-eastern edge of the denomination, where the Sienese hills create a landscape of vineyards, olive groves, and ancient farmhouses. Castelnovino was created to showcase this identity: a festival that highlights local wineries and culinary excellence, fostering a direct dialogue between producers, restaurateurs, and visitors. It is not a commercial fair, but a convivial evening designed for those who want to discover the Berardenga region, glass in hand.
Castelnovino is organized by the Castelnovino Association in collaboration with the winemakers and restaurateurs of Berardenga, under the patronage of the Municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga and with the support of the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium. Entry to the festival area is free, while wine tastings are managed via a ticket system available on-site. It is the perfect event for those looking to experience an authentic evening in the Sienese Chianti, surrounded by quality wines, great food, and the welcoming atmosphere of a Tuscan village.
The 2026 edition of Castelnovino, the eleventh, was held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in the setting of Villa Chigi Saracini in Castelnuovo Berardenga, with stands open from 6 PM until midnight. The protagonists were over 17 local wineries with their Chianti Classico, accompanied by the gastronomic offerings of Berardenga's restaurants and shops. The evening featured the fourth Berardenga Song Festival, organized by Scuderia Rigacci, and in the afternoon, a moment of reflection on the Chianti Biodistrict.
Selvole, La Canonica, Castello di Orgiale, Tenuta di Arceno, Podere Scheggiolla, Le Trosce, Tolaini, Tenuta Cappellina, Poggio Bonelli, San Felice, Castello di Bossi, Fattoria dell'Aiola, Pacina, Felsina, L'Acero, Vallepicciola and Villa a Sesta, with tasting service by ONAV sommeliers.
