Three nights of cinema and TV series under the stars at Piazzale Stenditoio
The Castellammare Film & Series Festival is one of the freshest cultural offerings of the summer in Castellammare del Golfo, a seaside town in the province of Trapani, Sicily. The festival was created to celebrate two increasingly intertwined forms of visual storytelling: cinema and television series, which are now central to how we watch stories. For three nights under the stars, the event transforms the town center into a large space for shared viewing.
The heart of the festival is Piazzale Stenditoio, one of the most beloved panoramic viewpoints in Castellammare del Golfo. Here, at dusk, the public gathers to enjoy screenings and in-depth discussions with the gulf breeze and the coastal silhouette as a backdrop. The choice of a free, open-air space reflects the festival's popular and welcoming spirit, designed for both residents and the many tourists who flock to the town during the summer months.
The festival is curated by artistic director Antonio Enea and is included in the official summer events calendar of the Municipality of Castellammare del Golfo. The programming aims to combine popular titles, a focus on contemporary serial language, and the pleasure of collective viewing, in an agile and accessible format that fits into the city's rich summer calendar.
Castellammare del Golfo is no stranger to the audiovisual world: its town, castle, and beaches have frequently served as sets for film and television productions, thanks to a landscape that blends sea, history, and Mediterranean architecture. The Castellammare Film & Series Festival enhances this identity, placing the screen at the center of a city that has made the relationship between images and locations a distinctive feature.
The festival is part of a busy summer program that animates Castellammare del Golfo from June until autumn, featuring music, shows, and other initiatives dedicated to cinema. The festival thus represents one of the highlights dedicated to the big screen within a widespread cultural season, capable of accompanying visitors and citizens for much of the year.
The Castellammare Film & Series Festival 2026 will take place from July 29 to 31, 2026 at Piazzale Stenditoio in Castellammare del Golfo (TP), Sicily. For three nights under the stars, the festival offers screenings and moments dedicated to cinema and TV series, under the artistic direction of Antonio Enea.
The event is included in the official municipal summer events calendar and confirms the dates of the edition. The detailed program with the titles being screened and any guests will be announced by the organizers closer to the event. Admission is free.
The evenings take place at Piazzale Stenditoio, in Castellammare del Golfo (TP), in the heart of the historic center overlooking the gulf.
