The Madonie village Carnival featuring masks, floats, and festive cheer
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Carnival Parade is one of the most cherished events in Lascari, a village in the province of Palermo overlooking the Tyrrhenian coast and nestled at the foot of the Madonie mountains, a short distance from Cefalù. For a few days, the town center fills with costumed groups, confetti, music, and fun in a celebration that involves entire families and represents one of the most vibrant moments of the local winter.
The parade is promoted by the Municipality of Lascari, which publishes participation criteria, registration forms, and the official route for the event each year. Schools, associations, parish groups, and individual citizens are invited to take part, bringing colorful masks and allegorical displays to the village streets. It is a participatory tradition, built from the ground up, reflecting the community spirit typical of the small towns in the Madonie.
Founded at the end of the 17th century, Lascari retains the charm of small Sicilian villages suspended between the sea of the Gorgo Lungo and Piletto beaches and the hinterland of the Madonie. The Carnival is part of a calendar of popular traditions that mark the Lascari year, from the Feast of Saint Joseph with its famous 'virgineddi' banquet to the patronal feast of Maria SS. Addolorata. Experiencing Carnival in Lascari means discovering the authenticity of a community that makes participation and conviviality its hallmarks.
The Carnival Parade is traditionally held during the Carnival season, between late February and early March, coinciding with the peak days of the festivities. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced by the Municipality; it is recommended to check the official Lascari channels for updates.
