Four days of celebration, color, and joy across the squares of Carinaro
The Carinaro Carnival is the most anticipated winter event in this small town in the Agro Aversano area, in the province of Caserta, in the heart of Campania. Every year, the APS Pro Loco Carinaro «Sant'Eufemia», in collaboration with the Municipality of Carinaro and Unpli Caserta, transforms the town's squares and streets into a large celebration space, bringing color, music, and child-friendly fun.
The unique feature of this Carnival is its itinerant and widespread nature: it is not held in a single location, but across several central points of the town that come alive in turn. Events move from Via Torquato Tasso to Piazza Municipio, from the central Piazza Trieste to the sports center on Via Fratte, involving every neighborhood and bringing families closer to community life. It is a model of a popular festival designed to be accessible, free, and truly participatory for the little ones.
The program alternates between moments of pure fun and small live performances. There is no shortage of classic confetti battles, creative workshops, games, and music, alongside juggling, cabaret, magic, illusionism, and ventriloquism acts. The highlight is the masquerade parade, featuring an award for the most original costume, which renews one of the most cherished traditions of the Italian Carnival.
Behind the event is the voluntary work of the APS Pro Loco Carinaro «Sant'Eufemia», an organization recognized at the national level by Unpli for the quality of its activities. The Carnival is just one of the initiatives through which the association enlivens the Carinaro calendar, enhancing popular traditions and the bond between citizens and their territory.
The 2026 edition, presided over by the Pro Loco Sant'Eufemia led by Raffaella Mazzarella, enlivened Carinaro from February 13 to 17 with events spread across several points of the town, dedicated primarily to the little ones.
All events were held with free admission.
Carinaro is located in the province of Caserta, in the Agro Aversano area. By car, it is easily accessible from the Asse Mediano and the main roads connecting Aversa, Gricignano, and Marcianise. The nearest train station is Aversa, just a few kilometers away, with good connections to Naples and Caserta.
Carnival events take place in the town's squares and public spaces with free admission. For the updated program and schedules, we recommend following the channels of the APS Pro Loco Carinaro «Sant'Eufemia».
