In the village of La Morra, overlooking the Barolo hills in the province of Cuneo, the Cantè J'Euv is much more than just an evening event: it is the revival of an ancient ritual from the Langhe farming tradition. The name, in Piedmontese, literally means "singing the eggs" and refers to a custom that marked the end of winter, when on the eve of spring, the village youth would gather in small groups and go from farmhouse to farmhouse, singing to receive eggs as a gift.

Today, that rural gesture lives on in a convivial way in the center of La Morra, bringing back for one night the spirit of celebration and sharing that once accompanied the transition from the cold season to the new one. The evening takes place in the space in front of the Cantina Comunale di La Morra, at 2 Via Carlo Alberto. Participants are accompanied by the G. Gabetti Band, which leads the traditional songs, while it is possible to taste La Morra wines served by the glass.
