Calici al Tramonto

An aperitif at sunset in the Lagorai pastures

Calici al Tramonto is a boutique food and wine event held at Malga Casarina, located above the town of Scurelle in the Valsugana valley (Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige). The concept is simple yet evocative: head up to the mountain hut in the late afternoon to toast the sunset with a glass of Trentino wine, while herds slowly return to the barn and the sound of cowbells marks the golden hour in the Lagorai mountains.

The experience

Guests are served a board of Nostrano mountain cheese paired with wines from the local Cenci winery. The tasting features two Trentodoc labels: Cenci Trentodoc Nature and Cenci Trentodoc Sì Rosé—mountain-grown sparkling wines produced using the classic method that pair perfectly with alpine flavors. The high-altitude setting, the soft sunset light, and the silence of the pastures make this an authentic alpine social experience.

The initiative is part of the summer program promoted by APT Valsugana Lagorai and the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino, which organizes tastings, hikes, and gatherings across the huts, wineries, and landscapes of Trentino throughout the year. Calici al Tramonto specifically highlights the connection between mountain viticulture, alpine farming, and the Valsugana landscape.

Malga Casarina and the surroundings

Malga Casarina is a mountain hut located in the Scurelle area, accessible via forest roads that wind up toward the Lagorai pastures. Beyond this event, the hut is known for its dairy production and the "Adopt a Cow" initiative, which connects visitors with alpine life. The Valsugana valley, carved by the Brenta River, offers a rich calendar of nature and gourmet events throughout the summer season.
