Wine, Ciociaria cuisine, and music in the medieval village
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Borgo diVino in tour is the traveling food and wine festival that crosses Italy every year, bringing quality wine to the most picturesque villages in the country. In Aquino, in the province of Frosinone, the event brings the historic center to life for a weekend in September, turning the medieval village streets into a path of tastings, flavors, and folk music.
The heart of the event is the tasting trail that winds through the village streets: cellars, set up by wine producers and retailers, open their doors to visitors who, glass in hand, can discover local labels and wines from other Italian regions. Each stop is an opportunity to learn about the winemakers' craft and pair wines with the dishes offered along the way.
Alongside the wine, the real star is the gastronomy of Ciociaria. In the 2025 edition, the village hosted 36 food stalls, opening from 6:00 PM, where visitors could enjoy typical local peasant dishes: homemade pasta, cured meats, cheeses, and specialties from the Frosinone area. A journey into the authentic flavors of southern Lazio, designed to complement the wine tastings.
Framing the tastings is the traditional Ciociaria folk music, which accompanies visitors through the alleys of the historic center. The atmosphere is that of a convivial and genuine village festival, where the historical heritage of the town intertwines with the flavors of the land and social life.
Aquino is a small town in the province of Frosinone, in Lazio, with a rich historical past: once an important city in Roman times, it preserves medieval landmarks that serve as a natural backdrop for the event. The history of the village, the flavors of the land, and the folk music are the ingredients that make this stop a cherished event for the community and visitors from neighboring towns.
The event is promoted and organized locally by the Municipality of Aquino and the Pro Loco of Aquino, who manage the setup of the stalls and the evening programs. The event is part of the tradition of food and wine festivals in the Ciociaria area, an opportunity to showcase local excellence and experience the historic center of Aquino in a festive atmosphere.
At the moment, there are no official dates for a Borgo diVino stop in Aquino in 2026. The national tour calendar for Lazio includes the stops in Nemi (September) and Subiaco (November). The 2024 and 2025 editions in Aquino took place in September in the historic center of the medieval village: we recommend checking for updates on the channels of the Municipality and the Pro Loco of Aquino.
